  Glorney and Faber Cup Teams

The Glorney and Faber Cup teams are Teams that are made up of Junior Chess players.You get selected by being in the top six rated players in your age group.There is a U.12 team a U.14 team a U.18 team and a U.18 girls team made up of only girls(girls can enter another team as well if they wish too) The U.12 competition is called The Bernadette Stokes Cup.The U.14 competition is called The John Robinson Cup.The U.18 competition is called The Glorney Cup and the U.18 Girls competition is called the Faber Cup.You may also play for a higher age group if your rating is good enough and if you want to.To get a rating go to ICU= Irish chess Union and buy a membership.For more info go here -------> http://www.icu.ie/

The cork chess club has 12 junior players and out that 12 8 of them are on the Irish Chess Union Rating list,out of that 8 4 made it onto the Provisional list.Which is very good think of it a third of the cork chess club junior players made the provisional list.

The May 2012 rating list came out which means the teams will be selected soon.Two more tournements will be held which will be included in the May 2012 rating list.
