Cork Chess Club is a club, of about 70 members ranging in age from nine to ninety!.

We meet most Fridays at 8pm in the Bridge Club, which is located at 36 Patrick's Quay .

New members are always made very welcome! Just turn up on the night, or contacts us.

 

The club tries to cater for all levels of play from beginner to expert, ages 9 to 90+.

Cork Chess Club enters a team in Munster Chess League Division 1.  Indeed, we were Munster Champions in season 2007/08.
Participation of additional teams is dependent on the interest of players with teams being organised from September each season.

Club players have represented Ireland at U10, U12, U14, and U18 levels.

Club members are actively involved in organising chess in Cork  , The Mulcahy Cup, and The Cork Chess Club Open

Weekly Sub during season

Adult - €3.00
U18 - €2.00

During the Summer months of June, July and August the club can be very quiet. A few members may still frequent the club during this time, whereupon there is a sub of €3.00 per person per night.

Cheques should be issued to "Cork Chess Club" and crossed account payee only, all membership fees will be issued with a receipt.
