About Us

Cork Chess Club is a small club, of about 70 members ranging in age from eight to eighty!. We meet most fridays at 8pm in the bridge club, which is located at 36 Patrick's Quay.

For the summer months of June, July and August the club is closed, but a few members may still frequent the club during this time.

Over the last number of years we have grown steadily and now cater for all levels of play from beginner to expert and have recently begun coaching at the lower levels.

This year we have three teams competing in the munster leagues, with the A team in a tight battle with Sarsfields and Ennis for the title.

New members are always made very welcome! Just turn up on the night, or contact us.

The annual membership is €40 for adults €20 for children and €50 for a family, with a weekly fee of €5 for adults €2.50 for children and €5 for a family.

There is also a more informal chess night in a pub called the Bridge House which is on High Street, close to St Finbarr's Hospital, this is on Tuesday night after 9pm, all are welcome.
